Is there a current or recent debate around this amendment?
Amendment IV (4) Protectes against authorities searching or taking your property without a reason. A warrant must be issued with the place/person to be searched and things to be taken.
ReplyDeleteExceptions: If they are searching for one thing, but find another that is relevant they can take that for evidence.
Amendment IX (9): Just because the right is not specifically protected by an amendment doesn't mean the government can automatically disregard it.
It is an amendment that protects against exceptions to all other amendments, so we weren't able to find an exception to it.
